{"id":4455,"date":"2020-09-03T09:52:12","date_gmt":"2020-09-03T07:52:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/emoocs2021.eu\/?page_id=4455"},"modified":"2021-02-12T23:03:54","modified_gmt":"2021-02-12T22:03:54","slug":"workshops-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/emoocs.hpi.de\/index.php\/call-for-papers\/emoocs\/workshops-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Workshops"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3><strong>Track Chairs<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Agathe Merceron (Beuth Hochschule Berlin, Germany),<br>Karen von Schmieden (Hasso Plattner Institute for Digital Engineering, Potsdam, Germany)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><strong>Call for Papers<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the main programme, EMOOCs 2021 offers the opportunity to host a series of workshops. <strong>The aim of these workshops is to provide a forum for exploring and discussing emerging trends in MOOCs in a more participatory and informal way.<\/strong> The topics of the workshops should be aligned with the themes in the main Call for Papers, and although track-specific proposals are welcome, workshops that connect research, experience, business and policy at the Institutional level are particularly encouraged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As an organiser, you can decide on the format and content of the workshop (traditional workshops with a call for submissions, hands-on workshops, but also bootcamps, Birds of a Feather, World Caf\u00e9s and so on). Innovative and interactive approaches that facilitate the exchange of ideas and experiences, and, hopefully, identify opportunities for new collaborations, actions or initiatives in the field of multimedia and online learning are particularly welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those interested in organizing a workshop are requested to submit a proposal of maximum 5 pages, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>A concise and engaging title<\/li><li>The names and affiliations of the organizers, including a short bio explaining their qualifications on the workshop subject and their experience with workshop\/meeting organization<\/li><li>The workshop\u2019s objective, topic, content, and themes (include a clear statement detailing why the workshop topic is relevant to EMOOCs 2021)<\/li><li>The description of the workshop format detailing draft timeline, and type of activities (e.g., paper presentation, invited talks, lightning talks, breakout discussion, demos, etc.)<\/li><li>Targeted attendance<\/li><li>Proposed duration of the workshop (1.5 hours or 3 hours) and organizational requirements (special room, technical needs, etc.)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If relevant:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>An indication on whether the workshop registration will be open to all interested registered parties or limited<\/li><li>A description of how workshop submissions will be evaluated, and a tentative Program Committee (with indication if the PC members have already expressed interest)<\/li><li>Any plan of dissemination of the workshop results (e.g. publications)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The workshop selection will be handled competitively and preference will be given in terms of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>&nbsp;&nbsp;Topic relevance for EMOOCs 2021<\/li><li>&nbsp;&nbsp;Innovativeness<\/li><li>&nbsp;&nbsp;Envisaged level of participation and engagement<\/li><li>&nbsp;&nbsp;Overall quality and comprehensiveness of planning<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3><strong>Submission<\/strong> (due February 22, 2021 (extended))<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>There will be official conference proceedings for this track and submissions will be handled through <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/easychair.org\/my\/conference?conf=emoocs2021\">EasyChair<\/a><\/strong>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Workshop proposals (up to 5 pages)<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The use of the supplied template is mandatory for your paper to be published in the proceedings:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-file aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/emoocs2021.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/EMOOCs-2021-Template.docx\">EMOOCs 2021 Template<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/emoocs2021.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/EMOOCs-2021-Template.docx\" class=\"wp-block-file__button\" download>Download<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Please remember to indicate the relevant Track when you submit your paper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once a proposal is accepted, the organisers should create their own websites with all the necessary information for dissemination of the event to encourage contributors and participants alike. The EMOOCs 2021 organisation team will then link to these pages from the workshop space on the official conference website and including the workshop timelines, etc. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lightweight submissions<\/strong> (<strong>up to 3 pages<\/strong>):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please take into account that the lightweight submissions will <em>not<\/em> be published in the conference proceedings.
