{"id":4443,"date":"2020-09-03T09:49:44","date_gmt":"2020-09-03T07:49:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/emoocs2021.eu\/?page_id=4443"},"modified":"2021-05-27T15:33:54","modified_gmt":"2021-05-27T13:33:54","slug":"future","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/emoocs.hpi.de\/index.php\/call-for-papers\/emoocs\/future\/","title":{"rendered":"EMOOCs Future Track"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3><strong>Track Chairs<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Carlos Delgado Kloos (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Spain)<br>Mauro Calise (Universit\u00e0 degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, Italy)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><strong>Description of the Future Track<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Digital education is a strategic priority to provide relevant, quality and inclusive help for all citizens to steer or negotiate the digital era and address critical issues of climate change, disinformation and inequality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The global pandemic has\nforced a pivot to online delivery of education across the globe while also\nserving to amplify international trends that were already under way: surging\ninterest in open, asynchronous learning content; repositioning of Asian\nproviders as global leaders; curricular debate around skills, competences and\nknowledge and how to credential them; student search for better fees and value\nfor money; and, most notably, the exponential increase in the use of the major\nMOOC platforms, and other educational web services and tools like video\nconferencing, LMS and online labs. Both on and off campus. With the growing\nrole of edtech giants which are also investing in training, recruitment and\nemployment services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The spotlight shines once\nagain on Higher Education Institutions as they reflect on strategic and\nstudent-centred approaches to governance processes, leadership practices,\ntechnology, research and sustainable learning. The Future Track will try to\noffer a look forward, and open a conversation on the routes that online &#8211; and\nopen &#8211; education are mapping out to face the challenges of this (brave) new\nworld. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This\ntrack will consist of panel sessions, invited talks, and vision statements from\nrelevant, forward-thinking figures in the field of educational technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The following is a list for\nmajor issues \u2013 and possible subtopics \u2013 for panel proposals and invited talks\nat the Future Track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Resetting HE for the digital age: universities and platforms<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Viral Education: The ecosystem of the platform society<\/li><li>Integrated systems for all areas of HE institutions processes and activity<\/li><li>AI + data-driven governance (and data storage) and delivery<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Transformation of University during and after the pandemic<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Hybrid University (online + on-campus; synchronous + asynchronous etc.)<\/li><li>Software vs hardware: online education and digital divide(s)<\/li><li>Teacher Training in higher education<\/li><li>Virtual Mobility\/Exchange and Orientation as a strategy for internationalization<\/li><li>Digital credentials + storage or micro-credentials and recognition<\/li><li>Quality content as key enabler of inclusive education<\/li><li>Programs for enhancing digital skills and competences<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Skills development for a sustainable future<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Smartlearning for smartworking: unprecedented opportunities for a new working environment<\/li><li>Building resilience: Climate literacy and applied skills development<\/li><li>Building resilience: Digital literacy and competences and soft skills<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3>Submission of Proposals (due February 22, 2021(extended))<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Lightweight submissions:<\/strong> These <strong>up to 3 pages<\/strong> submissions will <em>not<\/em> be published in the conference proceedings.
